How to accept custom text input from customers during a POS sale?

I've created text input modifiers within my dashboard, yet when using the terminal, there doesn't appear to be a point to actually input text into those fields.

Is there some other way for my customers' custom text to be input other than in the notes section of the transaction?

Hello @esain and welcome to the seller community!

Unfortunately at this time the text input modifiers only work on Square Online sales, not in person sales.

Your best bet for custom entries for in person transactions is to use the notes section on each item, not the notes section on the whole ticket. To get to that notes entry screen, once you have added the item to the card, tap on the item on the "tape" on the right side of the point of sale. A item modifier screen will appear, and the notes section is available.

The main reason I recommend this over the notes section of the ticket is visibility. The notes section of the ticket is only available on the point of sale and will not print or display with the item itself. Writing the notes on the item means you'll see it printed and will show up on the transactions list for future reference.

Hope this helps!
