Can anyone tell me what kind of battery is in the Terminal?

I'm going to be doing some air travel soon with our terminals.  Can anyone tell me what type of battery is in the terminal?  Can it go in checked luggage?

Hi, @vnelson !

Here is the battery information for the Square Terminal:

Square Terminal Battery Specifications:
  • Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
  • Capacity: approximately 7.6V, 2000mAh
  • Watt-hours: Less than 100 Wh
Air Travel Guidelines:
  1. Carry-On Luggage (Recommended):

    • Square Terminal SHOULD be carried in your carry-on baggage
    • Keep it easily accessible for security screening
    • Can remain powered during screening
    • Protect it from damage
  2. Checked Luggage (Not Recommended):

    • Devices with lithium-ion batteries should NOT go in checked luggage
    • This is a TSA and airline requirement
    • Risk of damage in checked baggage

With all of this being said, please check out TSA's official guidelines as well before arriving at the airport.

I hope this helps!

@vnelson - here is the run down on the Square Stand 😄

The Square Stand actually doesn't have its own battery - it's designed to be powered through:

  1. Power Source:

    • USB-C power adapter (included)
    • Needs to be plugged into a power outlet
    • Powers both the Stand and charges the connected iPad
  2. Power Specifications:

    • Uses USB-C power delivery
    • Comes with appropriate power adapter
    • No internal battery
  3. Important Notes:

    • The Stand is not portable without power
    • Cannot operate on battery power alone
    • Requires constant power connection
    • The only battery involved is the one in your iPad

Hope this helps!

@vnelson ;

What are you looking to know about the Square Stands?

Battery?  none.... they plug in to keep the Ipad Charged and built in Swiper card reader working.
