Hello FTTOWN
It sounds like your custom domain isn’t fully connected yet. By default, new domains can point to the free Weebly subdomain (domainname.weebly.com) until the custom domain (domainname.com) is properly set up.

DNS records – If you purchased the domain directly through Square, the DNS should already be configured. But if you brought it from somewhere else, double-check that the A-record points to Square’s IP address and the CNAME points to “verify.squarespace.com.”
Propagation time – Domain connections can take up to 24–48 hours to fully update across the internet, so if you just set it up, it may just need a little time.

This is what I am getting from Squarespace. Does not let me change what they tell me to do, which is the default preset

@fttown hello there! I'm sorry you're running into this issue, but want to confirm whether you are looking for support from Square, or support from Squarespace. The link you provided points to Squarespace documentation, so I just wanted to double check to make sure you get the right information. Thanks!
