I have a feed business which we carry lots of different livestock feeds from a local mill, we cannot carry all the types of feed but we get weekly deliveries. So say someone wants a chicken feed that we don't stock in store but is no problem to get it in, as long as they order by Wednesday we can have it by Friday. I don't think preorder would work because it just gives me a single day. So how can I make a special order where when someone adds it to the cart by Wednesday they can pick it up on Friday? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Thank you @Candlestore for this workaround. Another option would be to set up pickup, and allow customers to schedule when they pickup the order. You can add an order prep time to the items that technically need to be "preordered". For example, if you wanted to purchase an item called "test", you could add a 2 day order prep time to that item. Then, only have pickup hours enabled for Fridays. As the customer, you'd be able to place the order 2 days in advance and schedule the pickup for Friday. However, let's say a customer purchases that item on Thursday. They wouldn't be able to schedule pickup until the following Friday.

I have on my items if I run out or not enough in stock give us a call or email us on our contact page. That way we can inform customer of an expected delivery date and take the payment over the phone for a Custom order. Get all their information so you can get ahold of them when their order arrives.
Other thing to try is making a page that has a list of your products you can sell but do not stock, and write that if ordered by Wednesday at XX:XX time you Usually can get it by that friday. Give us a call to place these types of orders.

Thank you for this answer but while going through the steps I get stuck on "enable pick up hours for just fridays". I chose the date range option but I can't just choose fridays so how do I get to only pickup on fridays for only specific products?
