Like this is ridiculous! I guess nobody at square either knows how to do it or simply does not care about their customers. Either way very poor customer engagement. Makes me question if I should find another merchant provider.
When I signed up I accidently signed up for POS but my business is retail. Half my clients keep telling me when they click on pay the checkout page simply doesn't do anything. This happened to me when I was sandboxing but we fixed it. Now it continue to happens when in production.
No way to contact support and nobody was able to provide any kind of answer in my last post.
I spent time and money on square but I guess money is all they care about.

I guess square is just not an option for online retailers. I'll let the opencart community know not to bother. Sucks, because it seemed like a good option, but obviously not

I have used Square with our WordPress website for over eight years, and it just keeps getting better and better. It works seamlessly.
I've also created Square API integration for a variety of other websites.
I have not used opencart specifically, however there are likely many in the community who have, and are happy to help.
Also I wanted to verify that you are using the Square payments for OpenCart plug-in that is available in the opencart add-ons area as indicated in this documentation.

Sorry that you're having so many troubles, and I fully understand the need to vent!
After looking at your last post, I'd like to clarify some things. Square was started as an in person processor that grew into the online environment. You'll need to have a Square account in order to access Square services, which means you'll definitely have access to both Retail and the Online aspects: there isn't a way to only have an online presence, even if you never utilize the in store side of Square.
It looks like you're asking for integration into your current website via API calls. This goes outside the usual support, which is why you've probably been running into problems. What I'd like to do is tag a few other Champions that have ecommerce API experience. They may be able to get you up and running faster than I can.

Can you provide us with the website platform that you are using?
(ie. Square online, WordPress, wix, etc)

Definitely frustrated!
I'm okay with posting information here. Using opencart Version 3.0.3.3 with Square API Version: 2022-02-16.
On the checkout page when client enters all their CC data and selects Confirm Order the page does nothing. We sandboxed it and it worked after some work. Some orders go through but I have clients now telling me its doing the same thing. Orders aren't going through.
I thought maybe it was an International thing but these are USA clients. I've had one order today when a typical Thursday we have 30. This is costing me a lot of money so hopefully you can understand my frustration..

@XSteveO I can see how that can be frustrating! I was trying to access your site but even when I hit "buy now" I'm getting dozens of connection timed out and javascripts issues. Leads me to believe the issue might be outside of the Square ecosystem.
On your end your at least able to hit the buy now?
I just one of my other techs have issues getting to the website at least 3-4 times, again time out issues. This might be a hosting or resource issue.

I had the empty cart bug when I opened a second location. Could this be part of the issue? Do you have more than one location configured?
