Troubleshooting Instagram Feed Issues on Square Online

my Instagram feed on my Square online was working perfectly, but suddenly it isn't. Products are showing as tagged but when you click on one it doesn't go to the listing. All it does is basically magnify the Instagram photo and post. I haven't changed anything. The only thing that's happened recently is my phone updated automatically to the recent iOS

Hi @Scar353

Have you confirmed if this behaviour is consistent across multiple devices, or has it only been observed on your iOS device?

As a first step, I recommend clearing your cache, closing your browser, updating it, and then reloading your site to check if the issue persists.

If the problem continues, the next step would be to reset the connection between Instagram and Square Online. You can disconnect your Instagram account by following the steps in our online guide, then reconnect it to see if this resets the feed on your website.

Let me know how it goes, and feel free to reach out if you encounter any issues!

Hi Laurie,

Yes,

the behaviour is on both my phone and laptop. I've  disconnected and reconnected the instagram feed several times but the problem persists. I don't know what a cache is or how to clear it but I always close everything on my laptop and my browser is up to date. I've ended up just disconnecting the feed for the time being as I don't want to be directing people to a feed that goes nowhere.

Hi @Scar353—thanks for your patience!

Clearing your cache can sometimes resolve performance issues when using the Square Dashboard. Cached files can slow down your browser or app, and by clearing 'old data,' you help it load pages more efficiently.

Additionally, cached data can occasionally become corrupted, leading to functionality issues. The steps for clearing your cache may vary depending on the browser you're using. A quick Google search, such as 'How to clear cache on Chrome,' will guide you through the process.

To clear cache and cookies in Chrome, open Chrome, click the three dots in the top-right corner, select "More tools," then "Clear browsing data." Choose the time range, check "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files", then click "Clear data".

If you try reconnecting your Instagram feed after clearing your cache and still encounter the same issue, please let us know. Be sure to include a URL to your Square Online site, and we'll escalate the matter to our team for further review.

Alternatively, you can flag this issue with our Support Team by reaching them on 1800 760 137 (Mon - Fri, 9 AM - 5 PM Melbourne time).
