Confused at a small display on Product pages

I have been with Square and built a site for our customers based in Tom Price, WA. I have promoted it on Facebook, Email, and Email Campaigns. But when I went to a product page for a link I saw this message in Red; "This store is not yet accepting payments." This really answers the question of why I haven't made any click-and-collect sales that are only available in Tom Price. I Do have Square EFTPOS as well and have been promoting this like mad as well. Any ideas?

Hi @Aust-Variety-st,

Just stepping in here while @Laurie_ is out 🙂

I've taken a look at http://www.avs-tomprice.au via who.is, and currently only one A-record is noted here:

You will need to make sure that the only records on your domain are as follows;

1 A - type Record with the host/value set as the "@" or the * symbol (depends on your registrar) pointing to "199.34.228.164"

&

Another A type Record with the host value as "www" and pointing to "199.34.228.164".

I'd definitely recommend reaching out to your domain host to clarify why this information is not reflected on who.is. For reference, you can use who.is to check  DNS settings of any site, @Aust-Variety-st

Hi there, @Aust-Variety-st, thanks for reaching out to us with your query. I noticed it's your first time posting here, welcome to the Seller Community! 👋

We can get you to check you have the correct settings enabled on your Square Online overview page so that orders can be placed online.

1. Navigate to your Square Online overview page and check it says 'Accepting Orders' in green in the top-right corner.

2. Check to ensure your items are set to visible and have stock assigned to them as required. To do this, go to Items > Site Items. You’ll see the list of all your items. Select the item you want to edit. Under Visibility, select Visible. Make any other item edits and select Save.

3. Ensure you have assigned a fulfilment method to all of your Site Items.

Additionally, have you published your site within the last 24-48 hours? If so, your SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) may still be propagating on your site. This is what secures buyer information when they enter their payment details online. This can take up to 48 hours to configure after you first publish your site.

Let me know how you go with the above and don't hesitate to reach back out to me with further questions here.

the website has been set up correctly.
When you first purchase or transfer a domain (regardless of where it’s hosted), a 24–48 hour DNS propagation period must take place before the website will appear live under the domain name. In other words, you must wait until the propagation period is complete so the website appears when the domain is searched in a web browser; otherwise, you’ll receive an error.
You'll need to wait 24 hours more in order to get your website running properly.

Correct, @Aust-Variety-st! I included some information about this in my first post (SSL)!

Given it's been well over 48 hours since your initial post, you shouldn't still be experiencing these issues due to domain propagation. If you are, my advice is to reach out directly to our Support Team.

Just got this email today, Which just confuses the issue more, I replied with a screenshot to prove this was wrong, have a read, I have not modified this email in any and seems to blame me?

Hi Johnny,

This is Joanna from the Square Email Team, again.

I have an update regarding the escalation of your case. The engineer informed me that your site only has one A-Record set up which doesn't allow us to submit the SSL. You will need to contact your domain registrar and add the root A-Record to the DNS.

Thank you in advance. Hope this information is helpful to you, and if you have any other doubts you can give us a call or reply to this email,

Regards,

Joanna E.

Great job, @Aust-Variety-st!

In looking at your Square Online site again today it is now showing as secure. It seems that updating both of those A Records resolved the issues you were previously seeing!

Don't hesitate to reach out to us in future for any assistance with your Square Account. 😊

@Laurie_

Yes found out that instead of having @.avs-tomprice.au this A record is blank and everything went through really fast. So if anyone faces this problem the answer would be to remove the @ symbol and leave it blank must make sure to have the correct set of numbers for both to connect to Square and get the SSL problem free.

I have posted a new problem, New Products and Catagories not showing on Site?

@Laurie_

I am having issues with getting New Products to show up on my site. I made a new category but the items don't show up. So I shift them to existing categories but still don't show up, have made the products visible but still nothing. Even rested my site and built from scratch and still no new products just the existing products shown?
