I think the benefit comes from the tight integration with square, if you want to sync up your bricks and mortar and online presence and drive business to both via loyalty and email marketing then square is a great platform.
If this is not needed, any you just want a web presence with perhaps a simple (square) payment gateway they I agree, you're probably better of with some sort of generic web hosting (most likely wordpress) that allows a transaction fee based intergration with square.
I'm on the other end of this, trying to work out how to better integrate my web and physical prescence, without losing too much web site design/functionality.
