I have been reading through the forum, but am not quite sure about how multi-currency works.
I would like to create a Square Online website to sell products from Aus to the US and GB. I have a Square account set up in AUD which I just use for POS at present.
Can someone confirm/clarify if the Square Online website supports the following:
1. Products would appear with a price in the local currency? (They appear as AUD to customers in Australia, and USD to customers in the USA for example. Square would work out the conversion).
2. Checkout will show products in the local currency as well?
3. Payment is made in local currency, but if outside Australia, will be converted to AUD to land in my account?
If anyone could confirm the above that would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Hi there @Nostalgique,
Thanks for reaching out with this question, and apologies for the delay in getting back to you here.
Your website will only show the default currency the site was set up with, e.g AUD if you're based in Australia so your customers would see Australian pricing in the checkout regardless of where they're based. Customers will be charged according to the exchange rate their bank, or credit card company sets at the time of purchase. Your deposits will be sent to your bank account in Australian Dollars as usual.
Please let us know if you have any further questions, we're happy to help!

Hi @Arie,
Ahhh, that is disappointing. My current website already does that. I was hoping for a more seamless international solution from Square.
Thanks for clearing that up though. Much appreciated!
Cheers.

It is now late 2024, and still there does not appear to be any way to include AUD alongside the pricing?
Like others, most of my online sales are from overseas, and USD is often assumed.
I suppose it's a nice surprise when their charge is actually a lot less than the AUD value, but it would be better if it was "in your face" if preferred ๐
