Woocommerce Inventory and Transaction Syncing

I have a website I use 90% of the time for my sales.  I use Square for markets and events I go to.  For this reason all I want is to sync the products I'm taking with me to Square, then when I come home, sync back the transactions and changes to inventory.

 

The part worked fine, I entered the SKU's and they synced seemlessly to Square.  Now I'm trying to get the updated inventory counts back up to WooCommerce and see the transactions and nothing happens.

 

I set WooCommerce as my Product system of record.  What am I missing?

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your inventory syncing. 

 

Because the integration is built and managed by WooCommerce, we have limited insight into how to troubleshoot sync issues.

Hi Arie,

 

I don't know if it's not working as I'm trying to get a clear understanding of the functionality.  So can you clarify some things for me please (when establishing that WooCommerce is my Product system of record):

 

1. After an item is sold in Square, when the sync is done, does it then know to update that WooCommerce item with the inventory change?  Or will WooCommerce overright the inventory count in Square negating that sale?

2. Am I able to see the sales transactions from Square in WooCommerce and if so where?

3. In the Sync Records history in WooCommerce why can't I access the Info or see any information at all about what has been updated?

 

I am happy to go to WooCommerce with questions once I can clearly tell them what is happening.  At the moment they are just going to tell me to talk to the plugin developer about functionality as I'm not sure what should actually be happening.

To clarify @Arie's response, in this case WooCommerce are the plugin developer, which is why you will need to talk to them about most things related to using Square and WooCommerce together. WooCommerce build and support their integration with Square using our publicly available APIs. Square are not involved in the development of this integration so are not able to provide support and advice on how it functions.

 

1. This one is definitely a question for WooCommerce! I assume the inventory sync is intended to work how you'd imagine it would work by making sure stock levels are the same on both platforms. But if you'd like confirmation or if you're seeing issues with how this integration works, you'll need to contact WooCommerce here.
 

2. Your WooCommerce sales will appear along with any other transaction processed via Square as the payment portal in your transaction list. If you were to filter by payment type these should appear as "eCommerce Integration" transactions:

 

 

3.  This is another one for WooCommerce - we unfortunately don't know why something may not be appearing where it should be on their end. One thing I have heard might work in the past is to unsync then resync the integration via WooCommerce, however if this doesn't help you'll need to get in touch with their support team.
