+ Note section on Square Terminal

We have a Square Terminal.

Since "upgrading" to the new layout experience, the "+ Note" section seems to take up quite a lot of screen real estate.

Is there any way I can remove it or toggle the option off?

The previous experience had a much larger number pad, and as we have a few staff with vision difficulties, the new numbers are quite a lot smaller and this makes entering values more prone to errors.

Thank you for sharing this feedback about the recent changes to Square Terminal, @JeffReynolds 

 Having just upgraded the software on my device, I can see the changes you're referring to, although the note section is just a line above the keypad. I believe this was implemented because we received feedback about sellers wanting to add notes about a sale more easily. 

You can change back to the previous checkout experience by selecting More > Settings > Checkout > Revert to previous experience.

You're right, I can revert back to the previous checkout experience, however, the ominous email I received recently made me think that it will permanently change to this version of the checkout on June 15th, without the option to revert back.

What are my options after June 15th?

Square changes the look and function of the checkout experience and app from time to time, @JeffReynolds. Once the previous experience option is phased out, the Square Terminal will display the new checkout layout.
