How do I display a document on my personal website please

Hello team

I cannot upload a text document to the website I manage for my church.  With Weebly there was a button for this purpose but it seems to have disappeared since Square took over. No sales or marketing are involved with this website it is purely information.  The document is a list of church notices so that those on holiday can still keep up to date with their faith community events.    The pdf upload app is not suitable as it does not display on the screen.  Can you advise please?

Hi @ChurchL-L-F,

You are correct, currently Square Online does not support direct uploads of text documents to your site, outside the option of adding PDF files to your site. However, there are some alternative workarounds you could try to see if you prefer any of these options:

1. Embedding a document

One option would be to embed your document directly into your site. The embed code feature is currently only available through paid Square Online plans and requires a few steps:

a) Convert your document into an online shareable format (e.g., a Google Doc).
b) Copy the shareable URL and use it to generate an embed code.
c) Add the embed code to your website.

2. Add a Text Section to your website

You can create a new 'Text' section on your site and manually copy and paste the notices. While this action is straightforward, the text section has limited formatting options, so you may need to experiment with the layout before publishing.

3. Upload Screenshots of your notices

Alternatively, take clear screenshots of your notices and upload them as images to your website. While not ideal for larger documents, this might work well for shorter notices.

Let me know if we can help with any other questions!

Hello Laurie

Thank you very much for your response.  I knew about the copy-paste of text and taking screenshots... but thank you - it confirms I'm on the right track.

Since we are using the free version of Weebly/Square we realise we have limitations.  We will work with what we have until and if we can upgrade to a paid version.

All good wishes and thanks again.
