How to Navigate the Beta Community

The Beta Community is organized differently than our Seller Community, mainly because what we offer here is specifically for your feedback and bug reports specifically for testing. Take some time to explore, there may be more tests that you're interested in!


Let's give you a little roadmap. 

 

General Discussions

This is for saying hello, talking about your business, posting pictures of your dog. General items, no need for a specific board, this is our broad bucket. Use it as you see fit.

 

Featured Groups

These are groups that you can find through our recruiting posts, by exploring what tests are available, or if you have been invited to a specific test, you will talk about that test in a group. In most cases you'll navigate back to the group by clicking through here.

Each group has a Forum/Discussion Board and a Bugs board, as well as set-up instructions in most groups. This will be available in the side navigation of the group it itself. 

 

 

Product Advisory Boards

Product advisory boards are new to Beta Community. We're currently building these in order to connect you directly to our teams for early feedback, influencing the product and being a big part of shaping the direction the platform. These groups are sometimes invite only, but we always consider applications to this groups. See a topic you're interested in? Great! Send us a join request.

 

Okay what else?

Recent Conversations shows all the newest threads started in the Beta Community. It will show you any groups you are involved in, and anything new to those groups, as well as general discussions.

 

My Conversations will show you conversations you’ve participated in to easily navigate back to the thread.

 

Questions? Post them below! Happy to answer, and update this post as needed. We’re still building your input on how to make this a well oiled machine - betaing a beta community, how meta - so your feedback on how to explain where we want things is always welcome.

The Beta administration was able to determine that I left over this past weekend, albeit, it was not intentional.  How do I get back on the Beta software, that I love over the non-Beta platform.  I have two more big, three-day events over the next two weeks and I don't want to complete transactions on the non-Beta platform.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.  Brian (BER).

@ber Were you testing a specific product or using the Beta App? 

If you are testing a specific feature, unless we've turned it off in your account, its available to you as a tester.

If you are using the Beta App- you'll get that through Testflight, and you'll need this link to activate it, or Android the Square Beta App is available directly from the Google Play store.

 

If not, Im happy to get the newest link for you to test.

I have the Beta software on my phone.  However, I don't have it on my Square Terminal where I realy need starting on Friday.  Please help me.  Thanks Brian

@ber Understood. Square terminal does not have a separate and available beta app to install on the OS, as it's a Square made product. 

What feature are you missing that is in the beta app and not on your Terminal that you are trying to use. We can see if this is available via our Feature Flag system for the Terminal.

I am very frustrated.  I have the Beta app on my tablet and phone but not on my Terminal where I need it the most.  I really miss the whole experience but especially FAVORITES-LIBRARY.

BY THE WAY, MY FAVORITES SHOW ON MY TABLET BUT NOT ON MY PHONE.  I WOULD SEND A SCREEN SHOT BUT INCAN'T ON THE TERMINAL.  WHAT'S UP?

When will Afterpay be available for testing in store, it will be a very good add on as we use Afterpay already for our online business and approx 65% of our customers use Afterpay as their preferred method of payment

I have the beta app on my iPhone and was accepted into the Tap-to-Pay beta; however, as of today, all other payment options are available on the Beta app except Tap-to-pay (which is grayed out). Any ideas on when this will be available to test? Thanks ... Ron
