When accepting payments through Square Register with automatic surcharges enabled, customers are required to tap 'Tap to confirm' on the customer display before tapping their card. Unfortunately, it's not possible to skip or remove this step on the Square Register.
In the meantime, I'll happily forward your request and feedback to the team responsible for launching the Card Surcharges Beta in Australia.

I'd be happy to help but might need a bit more information. Are you using the Tap to Pay option or a Square hardware to take contactless payment ? Would you be able to share a screenshot of the screen ?

it comes up on the customer screen and has a blue stripe across the bottom of the screen.

We would love to be able to move this step. It slows down transaction and even thought we explain to every single customer, they don't listen and continue tapping away while stuck on the confirm and pay button. I know it's a business saving but I'm considering removing it because it's causing more issues than it's worth.
Fingers crossed we can remove this before the busy peak period rolls around again

I am using square register.
i have applied a surcharge to pass through to the customers of 1.2%
