"Oops! You are not allowed to upload this type of file."

Okay, I've used Weebly since 2015 for one website and I always used the audio and file elements to upload mp3's for my members to listen and download.

All of a sudden I keep getting an "Oops! You are not allowed to upload this type of file" for four new audios I'm trying to upload.

Um... all of them are MP3's! Is this a bug or are there changes in the editor I wasn't aware about, such as a file size limit or something?

That's weird - I just tried using one of my Pro plans and didn't have any issues uploading - sounds like you need to contact Weebly support!!

The direct page to the audios is http://www.globalbusinessalliance.org/digitalsop.html but it's for members only.

And besides, it's an in-editor problem. Not sure looking at the live page is going to help, especially when there's nothing new I can upload.

Here is the screenshot to the error in the editor:

Strange that you got that error, @ABShortridge. I uploaded a test mp3 to that page with both the file element and audio element with no trouble (I removed my tests). Do you have another browser you can test with, such as Chrome? I'm wondering if something is happening to the file during upload.

I get the same when uploading some videos to my sites. This problem is with Firefox only - Chrome surprise surprise works perfectly fine.  Weebly insist on Chrome, even if I insist on Firefox

Hi @TAT I don't think we mean to come across as insisting on Chrome, but it is a popular browser for a lot of users. I personally prefer Chrome Incognito mode but I also edit with Firefox often. I think Adam sticks to Safari. Smiley Happy

This article we have may help you out to make sure you are using a compatible version of Firefox. https://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000817428-Browser-Support-FAQ
