Checkout Link Questions for Raffle Tickets - Reporting and Items

Hi all, we are new to Square, looking forward to using our Terminals in the concession stand this year!

As a fundraiser, individual families sell physical raffle tickets. Not only do the raffle winners win prizes, but the team and individual player who sells the most tickets also win prizes - meaning we keep track of the serialized ticket numbers down to the family that sold them (150+ families).

In order to allow families to accept credit card payments on our behalf for the tickets, I thought we could use a Checkout Link that captures the Ticket Number(s) and Team Name for the purchase. Here's what I have so far: https://square.link/u/huxaVtZx

1st Question:

If I wanted to create a unique link for each team to help tracking, can I create a payment link for a specific option / variation of an Item or do I have to create 30 unique items (the number of teams we have)?

2nd Question:

When using the custom fields on the Checkout Link, is there a report I can download out of Square to make it easier to handle the data or do I have to look at each ticket sale transaction to retrieve the data to match to our ticket tracking spreadsheet?

I would appreciate any additional suggestions if there's an easier way to do this through Square!

Your checkout link is well-organized and commendable!

Regarding your first question, you would need to generate a separate link for each team.

As for your second question, there isn't a way to customize the reports directly on your Square Dashboard, but you have the option to export various reports from your Square dashboard and customize them as required.

I understand that I’d need a new link for each team - that would be preferred. But I’m asking about the underlying item itself. Can I generate a link to a specific option / variation of an item? Ie: the item is “Raffle Ticket” and the options / variations are the team names? Or - would I have to create 30 individual items, each item representing a team?

Something you could do is add each team name to a modifier list and have that associated with the item link "Raffle Tickets". People would be able to check the box of which team they are supporting with their purchase.
