"Entered by Customer" payment option is getting error message

We have an "Entered by Customer" payment option at our farm stand.  For weeks, all of my customers have been getting a "We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again" error message when attempting to pay.  It appears right after they confirm the payment.

 

Any clues to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Can you provide more details - for example which Square App and what hardware are you using, are you there in person or is this a Kiosk self-serve setup?  Do you have internet or is there a smart device hot-spot connection?   Sorry for the questions but, as the volunteer community members here are not the same as Tech or Customer Support, we need to understand how your process is setup.  Many folks here have a good bit of hand-on experience using Square's Hardware and Apps.   Another tip for future consideration - if you suspect that there is an issue with Square's System, you may want to bookmark this site - it's quite useful and can save a bit of frustration.
