Website Feedback

Good morning,

I'm new here and the owner of Gizzy Dog Gear, which sells custom-designed pet T-shirts and hoodies. I also participate in different pop-up events.

I'd welcome feedback on my website because my conversion rate is horrible.

I've worked hard to enhance the website, make it flow, and add SEO titles and meta descriptions to my pages. I've also established a business Google. Currently, I have no ads running because as we know they are expensive, and if you aren't making anything it is hard to put money out. I also advertise on my social media platforms and try to be intentional when posting to draw people to the website. I'm unsure what I'm missing and am beginning to become a little frustrated. I do understand building a brand takes time and I'm here for the long haul, but if there's something I'm missing that can be implemented to assist would be helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to assist.

Hi GizzyDogGear,

Selling online is a  challenge for sure.  You have some great ideas - perhaps focusing more on selling in person would help elevate your online business.  The reason I say that is you're in a very competitive market - for example, I just searched Etsy on Dog Bandanas - there's over 173,000 Dog Bandanas available through various vendors.  For several years we sold our handmade items at various outdoor events and markets - this gave us great exposure to a ton of people.  We eventually opened a physical location - we also have an online site however, for us selling in person seems to be our best option.  People always ask us if we have a website but, in person sales work much better.  Just one way to look at how to make things work.  I'm sure others here have some good thoughts from their experience as there's no one solution that works for all.

@GizzyDogGear thanks for sharing your website and a little bit of context behind what you have done so far! First off, you are absolutely right that this takes time, so while it may be frustrating just remember that small progress is progress, so keep at it!

From a consumer point of view, I think it would be helpful to showcase some reviews or testimonials from past purchasers. I know that when I shop online, I love being able to see some sort of social proof for the place that I am ordering from!

Hope that this is helpful 🙂
