Card reader has been saying 5 mins remaining of update for 3hrs and won’t turn on or off or refresh

Apologies for the delayed response here @Bandm
As it's been a couple of days. I imagine that this has now been resolved, however if you believe that your device is stuck during a software update, I recommend factory resetting the device. You can find the steps to do so in our support centre here.
Another step I would take in this case would be to schedule your software updates so that you can migrate any risk of an update during your business hours.
Software updates are, by default, set at 03:00 local time to avoid any disruption to your normal business hours. Software updates typically take around 20 minutes to complete, but may take up to one hour.
To adjust your nightly reboot time:
- from the navigation bar, tap ≡ More > Settings > Hardware.
- Tap General > Nightly Reboot and select the time that works best for your business.
