Square Point of Sale stops randomly

Hi! I have 3 retail shops, all of which use Square's free Point of Sale app on tablets. At one of our retail shops (Town Shop), the app will often display an error message: "Unfortunately, Square Point of Sale has stopped"

 

Any idea why this is or suggestions to stop this? Thanks!

What kind of tablets are you using?

Have you updated the Square app on all of them to the latest version?

Hi we are a restaurant which caters to a lot of volume. We are integrated with Cuboh, a company that injects orders from delivery platforms to square. However, especially on busy times, our square POS suddenly stops printing on all KDS and receipt printer. This happens sporadically and it affects our business gravely. Is this a limitation of Square? Also, upon locating the transaction in square, we couldnt reprint the tickets manually anymore, so our staff would have to put them again manually. Please we need help as this makes people, drivers angry. Advanced thanks!

Hey there @HomeFriteNYC 

 

Sounds like it could be one of two things:

 

  1. You're experiencing intermittent internet issues, esp since you're not seeing the option to print tickets manually. Sporadic internet issues can affect hardware connections. For this, troubleshoot your internet or call your ISP. 
  2. Either the POS app needs updating or your device's OS.
