Customer's payment never showed up on square app

I swiped a customer's card this weekend and everything appeared to go through fine.  But the payment never registered in my Square app.  The app gave me the "approved" sign as usual but I never got an email confirmation and the transaction does not appear anywhere on my appear.  Has anyone had this happen to them?  Any idea what went wrong?  Thanks in advance.

Did you complete the sale with tip/no tip if that's enabled, signature if enabled, and send receipt?

 

If you don't complete all steps, it doesn't close the sale. The card was approved, but not charged if the sale isn't totally closed.

 

I've got one employee in particular, because we use a shared cash drawer, will take the cash, put it in the drawer and not complete the sale. At least with cash, we get the money, but I have no record of the order for the customer.... I feel your pain.
