I'm using my moblie square app, I enter my items in POS and the sale is ready, the customer puts phone over wireless reader to charge via Apple pay and it takes 3-5 minutes to connect to make transaction if it even connects. The customer has apple pay open, thumb on button to allow and is doing all right, but it won't connect. Do I need to do something different on my end??
What can be done to speed up Apple Pay connection??

With every customer. They have tried to tap phone and not tap phone.. still takes 5 min to connect.. the last one showed connection and we heard the beep and it showed on her phone a transaction but it never went through on my end.

Sorry to hear you're still encountering trouble with this, @klcnp1. Everything is on the up-and-up, and Apple Pay transactions should complete immediately. 🤔
Is the connection issue happening with any other forms of payment? If you haven't already, please give these troubleshooting tips a run-through:
