Pretty much what the title says. We're a coffee shop that also sells a few food items. As of now, the current process for tracking these is having the opening barista manually enter how many of each taco, pastry, sandwich, bagel, etc., we've received each day. This is a bit time consuming, not to mention needing to mark them out at the end of the day.
My questions is if there is a way for us to simply mark what waste we have at the end of the day, then have the stock automatically restock each morning when we receive inventory. So for example, if every morning we receive six blueberry muffins, is there a way for Square to automatically restock to six each morning? This is assuming we have set inventory to zero from the night before, as whatever didn't sell would be wasted. Thanks for any help y'all can offer!

As I see this is your first post let me welcome you to the Square Sellers community.
Since I see you posted this in Square for Retail I am assuming you are using the Square for Retail paid plan.
On your device you can select Inventory, I put mine on the bottom of my POS display. So when I receive things I select Inventory, then in the top Right in blue it says Receive Stock, Tap that. Then you can either Scan the Barcode if there is one for the Blueberry Muffins or you can type in the item name then the quantity, and repeat for each item received. Then when all items are received press enter or save, then all quantities will be updated.
If you get the same items everyday, I would suggest printing out the SKU as a Barcode or GTIN for each item you receive daily and stick them on a sheet of paper in a notebook by the register to scan every morning to make it faster than typing in Blueberry .......

This is perfect! This is how I do ours in retail furniture! If you need to tweak it than I can in quickbook or Google docs! It's a lifesaver for me! I am not the business person who does all the back in deals my employer is and he's in it!
If I helped answer your question hit the best answer. Thank you!

Hi @joshuaxrios ,
One thing you might consider is putting all the items you receive daily on a single purchase order with the expected quantity. You can then receive all the items via the purchase order, making any necessary quantity changes to match what was actually delivered. For the next day, go to the purchase order list and use the Duplicate function to create a copy. This Duplicate function can be found by clicking on those 3 dots to the right of an existing purchase order in the list. If necessary, add any new items that will be received daily and remove those no longer being delivered. If you make sure to always create your new purchase order from the most recent purchase order received then you'll always be starting off with the previous days items. For items that will not be received that day or are not able to be sold (damaged), there are options on the purchase order line to either mark as "Damaged On Delivery" or "Will Not Be Fulfilled". Using this functionality will make sure that each purchase order is completely closed out.
