Prixe Frixe (Fixed Price) Menu and Square
Hello Seller Community, I'm hoping someone else has experience with prixe fixe menus.
Last weekend was our opening for our new concept, which centers on a fixed price meal: afternoon Tea. It's $37.95, and customers get to choose from an available selection of savory items, desserts, and tea.
I currently have it set up where Afternoon Tea is the item, and all the selections are modifiers. Unfortunately this is incredibly unwieldy for our staff. The kitchen can't make heads or tails of the tickets because it prints out 10 modifiers per item, which is very difficult to read. Our tea bar gets the entire ticket when they only need to know a single modifier.
I considered having each selection as it's own item which altogether add up to $37.95, but then the customer will see numerous charges on their receipt instead of a single one. That's not a great experience for them, either. There's also the chance that an employee entry error could mischarge a customer.
Can Square for Restaurants handle a prixe fixe menu, or are there any decent workarounds besides what I've already tried?

@londontea Hey Mr. Tea, I think I would set up the items for your tea and kitchen as just 0.00 items that can be indiscriminately picked by your staff and just have a single item that is the "meal". The restaurants side pretty much runs just like the point of sale as far as how items are treated. You could build the items, but I don't see a way to route the order tickets to different stations without it being different items. I think you would have to have them as 0.00 and not just no price as the no price wouldn't work online. I know the conditional modifiers is one of those feature requests myself and others have asked for and for the bundling of items at a combo/fixed price.

Thanks Donnie! I was afraid there wasn't a decent workaround, and I hope that Square is able to support this soon.
I might try doing your suggestion, I just hate the fact that customers's receipts are going to be filled with a bunch of $0 items.

@londontea I haven't looked you might be able to turn off modifiers and details on receipts. I know there is a setting for one of them that shortens it some, but I get what you are saying and agree 100%.
