Duplicate receipt rolls

Can you use duplicate receipt rolls in the printers? I hope to eliminate the need to buy a printer for each section that requires an order docket.

I'm not too sure what you mean by duplicate receipts rolls, sorry. Are you looking to send certain elements of the order to specific stations? For example, sending drinks to a drink station and food to the kitchen printer?

Hi Laurie,

I've seen receipt rolls where there are two layers, the top white one and a yellow one...now I'm saying this im not sure how the yellow copy would even be able to get printed on.

What Im trying to do is hopefully eliminate the cost of at least one printer.

Another question I now have is, can one printer act as many printers....can i print several dockets from one printer with different information on each?

I don't believe any of the compatible receipt printers support this type of paper roll. However, it's always worthwhile reaching out to the printer manufacturer directly to confirm your options for receipt paper. It's worth noting that you can re-print tickets by locating the order from your Transactions or Tickets page and selecting the option to re-print.

What I recommend is that you review how to Print Order Tickets. In this article, we explain how to enable automatic order ticket printing, how to re-print tickets and how to send specific item information to individual printer stations.

You can certainly print multiple order tickets to one printer by creating several printer stations on your device. I've included the steps below to set this up on your device:

1. From the Square app, tap the three horizontal lines or the down arrow at the top of the Square Register.
2. Tap Settings > Hardware > Printers.
3. Tap Create printer station.
4. Enter a printer station name and tap Printer to select your connected printer.
5. Under the section Use this printer for, toggle on whether you’d like to print: Receipts, In-person order tickets, Online order tickets, Order ticket stubs or Void tickets. Tap Save.

Repeat these steps to create multiple printer stations to print multiple order tickets.

This is a trick I use in your situation. You can add many printers in square, that reference the same physical printer. Create a front of house 'printer' that does production tickets and receipts etc. Then create a kitchen 'printer' that does just production tickets..

This way when you put an order through you will get 2 production tickets (effectively your CC). But when you print receipts you will get only 1 copy..

I hope that makes sense.

This along with the conditional printing of categories allows you to do pretty much whatever you want.
