Hi All,
We are currently using our online store within our coffee shop for drink and sandwich orders. One problem we are experiencing is when a new order comes in we may not always be near our receipt printer so we miss the alert of incoming orders. Is there a way to set up a loud audible tone when new orders come in? We want to expend the use of our online store by offering it to more customers, but we will definitely need a better alert solution.

A work around I’ve made is to set up an email filter to forward the New Order Emails to a separate email address that is logged into the Mail App on the iPad - and set up email notification sounds - and voila, audible alerts for new orders!
I’ve even bought & connected a cheap Always On Bluetooth speaker - the Oontz Angle 3 - so it’s nice and loud

As a note, I don’t do this on my main POS, I set up a separate iPad just for online orders that we keep open to the Orders Tab, so it doesn’t interrupt our flow otherwise, and orders are always visible

Hi @craftcoffeehous!
There currently isn't an option to make audible alerts but I definitely see how that would be useful in your situation.
There should be email alerts when a new order comes in but that would also require checking the account owner's email frequently so that may not be more helpful than it coming up on the register itself.
I'll let our Product team know you're looking for this feature and come back to update you if it's ever implemented.

Thank you for this! I had the idea of a separate email address but didn't want to change my email with square, and hadn't thought of the email forwarding. The separate iPad and bluetooth speaker are also great ideas. Thanks again!

This feature would really be helpful! I have to keep checking the screen on my I-Pads to see if new orders are popping up.

Hey I would really really love this functionality also! Square online ordering is such a powerful tool, but we don't use your POS onsite so this is a stand alone ipad that even in a high traffic area gets missed.

We use the online store for incoming orders, and have them set to print automatically from our square stand.
Instead of printing to plain paper, we use Fresh KDS in our kitchen.
orders are routed to their respective stations (drinks go to the drink station, food goes to the food station, pre-prepared frozen items go to another station)
each station has the option of an alert bell to notify the prep person that an order has arrived.
when an order comes in, bells go off wherever that order is routed.

That's such a great workaround to use Fresh KDS both for managing the orders paper-free as well as them having an option for a Sound Alert!

how did you set up printing for your online orders? We are only getting emails and getting them way to late. i have been trying to figure out how to get them to show up in our square register or print out and cannot find where to change that feature.

How did you set up to automatically print when an order arrives? We have to manually push the print button

We really need this as well. Coffee Shop here as well. I feel like there should be an easy fix for @Square. We use the POS system you guys made here. This would be really helpful... 24 hours should give you enough time to get this done! 😂
