My terminal showed it needed an update today when I turned it on, it looked like it was updating then after a while I got an error that said something went wrong and it would do nothing. I had to hard factory reset it, once signed-in everything looks familiar except the login/idle screen, it no longer has my Logo in the background and I have found no where to add it. I manually checked for updates and it shows having the most recent. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi, @BeeLickHoneyCo ! Welcome to the Square Community!
After a factory reset, the Terminal essentially returns to default settings. While your account, items, and layout sync back once you sign in, custom branding, doesn’t always automatically restore. Especially if it was part of older display settings that aren't currently supported in the same way.
Square recently updated the idle/login screen UI, and at this time, custom logo display on the login screen may no longer be supported or editable through the POS or Dashboard UI.
What You Can Check or Try:
-
Check Branding Settings
Go to your Square Dashboard:-
Online > Website > Site Preferences > Branding
(This will update online and receipt branding, not the Terminal login screen.)
-
-
Confirm Terminal Settings
-
On your Square Terminal:
Settings > General > About Terminal → Confirm you’re on the latest OS -
Settings > Display → (If visible) double-check for branding options
-
I hope this helps.

@BeeLickHoneyCo Hello and welcome to the Seller Community!
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. The update you see is correct. This was an update to Square back in January:
(Seen on the What's New section of the dashboard)
I'm on the fence about this update myself. I prefer heavy branding whenever available, and not having this on the point of sale is annoying.
Wish I had better news!

Thanks to both for the help and responses. I really thought I had messed something up, I guess I didn't search long enough to find the culprit.
I don't understand why companies have to get rid of something that works to "improve", why not just add to.... Ryan, I too like the look of being heavily branded, it better gives the appearance of professionalism and being legitimate.
Thanks again.
