Taking Orders from Terminal with second PoS

Considering purchasing a Terminal as a second PoS (We currently only have the Stand) for my restaurant to speed up takeout orders and sell specific menu items (Pizza slices). We have two phones, one at the bar and one in the kitchen. If the bartender is busy we will take the order and hand write it on a ticket to give to the bartender to input into the PoS app thru the Stand.

Is it possible to input the order on the Terminal device and have tickets printed at both stations (kitchen and bar), with the open ticket listed on both the Terminal and Stand devices? Additionally, if we sell a slice at one PoS, is the inventory adjusted on both?

Hope that makes sense, thank you for your help!

Hello @BRP28 and welcome to the Seller Community 👋

These are all great questions!

Is it possible to input the order on the Terminal device and have tickets printed at both stations (kitchen and bar)

Yes, it is possible to share a printer station with multiple Square Points of Sale, as long as the printer is seen by both devices via Network in this case (USB Printers will only be seen by the device they are connected to).

...with the open ticket listed on both the Terminal and Stand devices?

Yes, Open Tickets are saved at the account level. This means that every open ticket that you open on one device can be updated, saved, and settled on any of your devices as long as they are logged in to the same account and location.

Additionally, if we sell a slice at one PoS, is the inventory adjusted on both?

Yes, if your devices are using the same Square Account and Business Location, they will also share and track the same inventory.

I hope this information is helpful!
