Square Terminal for Split payment

Hello is there a way to use Square Terminal to run multiple cards (split payment) for one check? For now when we split a payment through main ipad, the Square Terminal option becomes grey (showing "no split payment), and we have to use Square reader and pass the main iPad for each guests to finish their payment (tip).  Hoping there is a way we can just use Square Terminal to replace the main iPad for this situation.

Hi @Gordita.  At this time, Square Terminal can not be used for split payments.  Unfortunately, I have heard of no timeline to remedy this, and don’t see a beta test in the pipeline.  So, for now, this is how it is.  There’s no need to submit a feature request, which I would normally recommend.  It is a known issue.

Is there a way to create ticket on the checkout page from the browser?

Or maybe how to create a ticket in general from the browser dashboard?

 

Or does anyone know any tips or tricks to accept split payment on virtual terminal?

 

Accepting split payment is always a pain 😑. Customers won't tell you they want to do split payment until it's time to check out. Then, I will have to cancel the transaction on virtual terminal, log in to Sq Terminal, rescan the items before I can accept split payment.

Before now, it was quite bearable cause it happens once in a while, but now, it's too often.

 

At least, if there's a way to create ticket on the browser, checking out will be less tedious on Sq Terminal.
