Can Square Restaurant Provide Live Sales Updates by Server?

Is there any way to get a live sales update by server?  We have minimums on reservations and want to be able to see an updated total to see if customers have reached a certain sales amount.

While Square for Restaurants doesn’t currently provide live sales updates specifically by server, there are tools available that can help you track sales in real time and review server-specific data.

 

To monitor live sales totals for your restaurant, you can use the Live Sales feature on the Square for Restaurants POS. This feature allows you to see sales in real time, helping you keep track of totals as transactions are processed.

 

For additional information, refer to this resource about accessing real-time sales data on Square for Restaurants POS.

 

For server-specific data, use the Reports tab in your Square Dashboard or POS system. You can generate detailed summaries, including sales by server, to review how each server is performing.

 

To access this:

 

  1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and go to Reports > Team Sales.
  2. Here, you’ll find breakdowns by server/team member, including sales totals and tips.

While you may not see live updates per server on the POS, combining live sales data with team reports can help you assess whether your minimums are being met.

@bryan2 even if you don't see it on live sales, I think under reports you can look at open and closed checks and then display by employee, but that will only give you that employee's total.  But you can sort by open and closed checks on most reporting.  I will look and see if there is another way to do this.  Do you only want to see the open total for a table? or does each server only have 1 table?

Thanks Donnie and Robyn.  Yes I did find a way to go into dashboard on my laptop and do a report by open checks and by server.  But when I am in square for restaurants/ipad you can't do this same report.  I do understand you can add up all the checks but a report with a total would be much easier.

@bryan2, I'm glad to hear you found a way to pull the report through the Dashboard! I can see how having the same reporting option directly within the Square for Restaurants app on the iPad would be beneficial to your business. 

 

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend submitting this as a Feature Request so our product team can track the need for it. Other sellers can also add their use cases, which helps prioritize improvements.
