Add Employee to Payroll "please use unique email address"

Hello, this is not my first rodeo hiring someone but it apparently feels like it is. I want to add an employee to payroll. Yesterday I put them in my team and they received the link to download the square teams app. Yesterday, my dashboard would never load ... so I had to wait until today.

 

When I go to payroll team, click their name, and fill out their info, such as hourly employee, direct deposit, etc. and finally click submit - it says "Please use a unique email address" ......... I cannot even change their email address on the website .... what can I do?

I had the same problem.  You should check for INACTIVE Team members that might have the same email.  Change the inactive team members email address to whatever, then try again.  Also, I believe you need to make the inactive team member active to edit it first.

In this case, we would recommend reactivating your old team member to avoid creating duplicate team members
