The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: Sales tax not applied automatically to online sales

Sales tax is automatically applied when I do an in person sale, but does not auto apply when an online order is completed?

@TheDavidLuther ;

Check with your accountant to see if this is required by you to collect online sales tax.

For me in my state:

  1. If I sell in store I collect Sales Tax
  2. If I sell online to an address inside my state I collect Sales Tax
  3. If I sell online OUT of state I do NOT collect Sales tax

So check to see if you need to collect sales tax on the sales you made online.

Next check your online setting to see if you have that enabled to collect Online sales tax.

These are great points, @Candlestore. Each state has different tax requirements and speaking with a tax professional is a good idea when dealing with online sales tax. @TheDavidLuther, please let us know if you have any other questions, or would like us to look into this further.
