Product Suggestions October 2022
Over my 3+ year use of Square I collected the following suggestions that could substantially improve the usability of the online platform.
Most of these suggestions are minor changes that, from my experience in product development, could be implemented very easily.
I will be happy to provide further details or discuss these suggestions.

- Online Management Screen - Pop-Ups are under the “Communications” menu, while Forms are under the “Website” Menu. Since both are web elements and both have form submissions records, they should be under the same menu item.
- Website Editor - “Email Newsletter” section - Once a user submitted the form, no emails are generated to either user or merchant. This is a basic e-commerce function. There should be an editable email template to new subscribers.
- Online Management Screen - Communications - Pop-Ups - Form submissions are not exportable and are not sorted in any meaningful way. This functionality does exist in “Form Submissions” under the “Website” Menu.
- Online Management Screen - Items - Customer Reviews - Currently the timing of the review request email is based on the purchase date. It should be based on when the order was picked up.
- Online Management Screen - Communications - Email & text alerts - Emails’ subject lines cannot be changed.
- Online Management Screen - Fulfillment - Pickup & Delivery - location edit - Currently restricted dates allow only complete closure. The suggestion is to allow special hours for specific dates.
- Server - Missing email notifications when new reviews are received.
- Server - Major change. Currently when an order is made (or invoice is paid), the items’ stocks are adjusted. However, orders can be made well in advance, so the system does not reflect that. The suggestion is to create a new type of “on-order” stock that will be displayed next to the regular stock. I would recommend letting the merchant choose whether the regular stock should or should not include the on-order stock. Example - in store are 10 shirts. 3 shirts are on order (paid for but not picked-up). The merchant may choose to display the current stock either as 10(3) or 7(3).
- Server - Order confirmation emails are missing the customer’s name, and the exact time of pickup (date and day of the week). Usually it only includes the day of the week or “today”/”tomorrow”.
