Hello Community!
Recently made the decision to utilize Square Online and Facebook/Instagram Shops. I've been able to use the Meta for Business integration to create the catalog on Commerce Manager, however, as I go through the onboarding to create the Shop, I've been having issues with the "Enter the link (URL) to your checkout page."
Each time I've added in either the link to the cart or checkout from the Square website, Meta Commerce Manager states "There are potential issues with your checkout URL."
So far, neither Meta nor Square support has been able to help me understand why there is currently an issue. Has anyone else experienced this?
Meta provides this article as "help" for the URL compatibility. I wonder if there are issues with the listings instead of the URL itself.

Troubleshooting
Posted 3 weeks ago
I understand, @KraftyKoopa and I am sorry to hear you are still having issues with this.
I reached out to our eCommerce team about this and they said the only suggestion they have is you could potentially try to link it your cart page instead of the checkout page: https://kraftykoopa.square.site/s/cart.
They said that my fix it for you. If not, unfortunately they said Meta would be the ones to troubleshoot more.

Hi @KraftyKoopa, thank you for your post. I see you are new to the Square Community, welcome!
I am not super familiar with Meta's Commerce Manager, but I can definitely look into this for you.
Just to make sure I have this correct, are you trying to enter that URL you mentioned from your Square website or the Meta Commerce Manager?

The screenshot attached to the post is from Meta Commerce Manager. The URL I'm trying to use is the checkout from the square.site for my shop. I'm not entirely sure why Meta and Square don't work together in this. The Square website itself is working; I recently had an order successfully go through. On Instagram and Facebook Shops, the checkout isn't going well as every time someone uses it, it takes them to an empty cart/checkout.

I understand, @KraftyKoopa.
Both Square and Meta offer support for their individual products. In this situation, it sounds like this may be an issue with Meta Commerce Manager. Have you been in contact with them, by chance?

Had been in contact with both Square and Meta, as initially mentioned. Neither has provided an update in this matter. It has been quite disappointing.

Unfortunately Meta is trying to say it is a Square issue, not a Meta issue. I have used both the cart and check out URLs and still have the same issue.
Also very frustrated to see this thread has been marked as "resolved" when it is still very much so an open issue woth both companies trying to state the source of the issue is with the other.

I understand your frustration, @KraftyKoopa.
The reason this was marked as Resolved, is that I have reached out to several of our teams that are knowledgeable on this integration and have offered the only possible workarounds that we have to offer.
I know that you mentioned Meta is insisting it is from our side, but since the integration is from them I would imagine they have a more specialized team that could look into this further for you. If you are ever having issues with any Square-based products we would be able to get it fixed for you.
I do apologize that we do not have direct answer though, but simply the Commerce Manager is not our product and we have limited troubleshooting abilities on our side with Meta products. Our Operations team did add that there may not be an issue on Meta's side, as it could be that this feature is not supported at this time.

Ugh- I wish I could help you.
I'm having an issue with our meta integration and the link we get sent to isn't the correct one to address it. It's a mess.

Godspeed to you. This entire process has been such a stress-inducing headache. Which is such a disappointment when both platforms try to come off as "small-business friendly."

Did any of you guys get a solution to this? I too am dealing with the same issue. It is a messy integration as I also can't seem to get the inventory counts to mesh to just use the Meta payments feature, so I am scared to turn that on in case we "over-sell" items. I am also stuck on the checkout URL and right now I just have it re-directing to my shop homepage for shopping, but it will be hard to actual turn a sale that way. Not sure why Square doesn't make this possible or provide insight into how to do this (also without taking a million hours).

Unfortunately, I have yet to receive a solution to this from either Square or Meta. It's been about a week since I've heard from either support team.

If you do find a solution, please share as I'm having the same issue and have worked for hours trying to fix it. Thank you.

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I've researched high and low and can't figure it out. Everything is fine on the shop on Instagram, but when you go to check out, it takes you to an empty website cart (mine) and does not show the items in the cart like it should. I've tried what seems like everything...

I am sorry to hear you are dealing with this too, @ggsgifts.
Would you be able to try to see if linking your site cart to Meta may help? I offered this same advice to @KraftyKoopa, so hopefully that can help! Other than that, it would be something in Meta's hands.

As far as I am aware you need to link the catalog, not the cart link. Meta needs to be the one to take and handle the payment, not Square (if I'm remembering correctly)

Catalog was created and linked earlier in the onboarding process. I had spoken with both Square and Meta prior to starting the integration to confirm my using the Square site for payment would not be an issue. Learned Meta recently changed their policy and all Shops accounts are to have their own payment processing, no longer through Meta.
