98% of my sales are online only (rarely in person) I work with alot of influencers online where they share my products/business and we use coupons for discounts for these online orders that are sold by the influencer. I HATE how they changed how coupons work online now! I used to be able to go into existing coupons and edit/change settings within that code to share to my customers and now it does not allow you to edit anything so you constantly have to create new codes and cant get rid of the old. but my MAIN problem is that in the past, I could (for example) create a code just for a specific category so that only that discount could be used in that specific category only. NOW,... if I create a code for that category, the discount ONLY comes off of the highest priced item in that category and NOT on the entire category. For example....on my site I sell jewelry and graphic tees. If I want 20% off of jewelry, but no discount on apparel, and a customer puts in 4 items of jewelry and 3 graphic tees, the discount ONLY comes off the highest priced piece of jewelry and NOT off of ALL the jewelry like it used to in the past and I get a lot of angry customers when this happens as they are used to it working the old way. WHY did this change? They should have left this alone! This is not ideal and I lose alot of sales this way
I rarely run a larger sale on my graphics, so I cannot afford to have the 20% coupon work on the ENTIRE sale....I just want it used on one category at a time. (like it used to) So that if their cart is mixed with jewelry and clothing, it will work on ALL the jewelry....not just the highest priced piece of jewelry...I want it to work on the entire category! Its frustrating to say the least. bc when they fill their carts with 8 items, and 4 of them are supposed to be on sale, and only ONE is discounted, I lose the whole sale
IS ANYONE ELSE ANNOYED AT THE CHANGES THEY MADE ON SQAURE ONLINE? I want them to bring back the OLD settings. Life (and sales) were much better before they wrecked how coupons work

I have reached out mult times to contact square with my frustrations, and I never get anything resolved. The agent I spoke to today, told me to voice my concerns on here. So that is what I am doing finally, even tho the frustration over these changes have been bothering me for MONTHS now! I will never understand why they had to fix something that was not broken. These changes have been nothing but a headache and cost me alot of money in sales lost due to the way they have their coupons operate now. SO frustrating. I REALLY hope they see this and bring back settings the way they USED to be

Yes, I've noticed issues with the discounts too! I sell mainly in person, but the changes have effected me too!
What I did find was that one I tried to set up I had to select every individual item I wanted included - what a pain that was! I have over 1000 items, and they are split into categories. I just went in and had another look and it has a message as below: Please select individual items. Category-based automatic discounts are not supported for Square Online at this time!

Thinking further on this, there are many issues with changes they have made.
For example:
- Category URLs now have a long code at the end instead of a number.
- The text formatting in the item list keeps removing paragraph marks if I go in to make small change.
It's now harder to set up categories, takes heaps longer. - The automated emails for abandoned carts and reviews don't seem to be working
- And today my shipping profile isn't working so someone got free shipping, costing me $10! Lucky I don't get many orders, if this isn't fixed quickly it could cost me a lot more.
When I can find a way to do open tickets in Shopify I'm probably going to pay the extra to move over. That's probably the only thing keeping me with Square. I could deal with the few minor things before, but it's just getting ridiculous!
