How to change Square Online Store appearance to resemble Shopify

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "Shopify appearance"

I see shopify websites and they look beautiful.  I am not sure if this appearance is available with square online.   I have chosen to use the free version, and this may be the root of my problem of wanting to enhance the POV that the customer sees.

We are really wanting to expand our online sales, but also feel that our square online website is not as professional as customers may expect...

Do we need to change our plan and pay the subscription cost, or move to shopify and pay the costs or suck it up and stay with the free version of square-up.

Thanks for your valuable time and insights regarding our challenge.

Hey @EnchantedFibers

Do you mind sharing a link to your website?

I can't speak for a Square online site as don't use that, but what I can tell you is that the way most of these companies like Square and Shopify do with their online sites is to make it as simple as possible for the end user.  All of them have the tiered pricing to make the most out of the site builder the top tier, but doesn't necessarily mean that tier will fit your business.

You can look around on laces similar to Fiverr for people who build websites and toss them your ideas and see if they are able to achieve your end goal with the free plan, or if you want to post some inspiration ideas here as well, I'll tag a few other Champions who deal with Square Online.

Hey there @EnchantedFibers - Were there any specific features you saw on the Shopify sites that you're interested in? That would help me determine whether or not you may need to change your Square Online plan 🙂

Additionally, you could also share some screenshots here of some sites you liked.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply!

@EnchantedFiberscan you drop your website on this post...maybe some Square Sellers can offer some suggestions to how to make your website closer to what you have imagined. Square does offer some templates, although I'm not sure if their themes are as robust as Shopify. You can do a lot with creating images and graphics to make your site compelling and interesting to shoppers. Have you used Canva before? They have quite a few options where you can incorporate text with graphics to create some nice website headers and graphics. Just be careful how much text you use inside the graphics, because Google and other web search indexes and SEO tools won't be able to crawl your website and recognize that text. If you do use some important text within a graphic, I would repeat it somewhere else on your website/page so that your SEO (search engine optimization) isn't negatively affected.

Good luck to you...looking forward to see what you're able to do with your website.

You can definitely incorporate some things, but Shopify has themes that are free and others that are paid.  They usually have a free for so many days promo which allows you to try it out and see if it works for you.  I myself tried it out before I set up my square online back in 2020 and it was a headache.  I have friends who love it though.  It's basically a preference of what's going to work best for your business.

My website is DetailersProducts.com - This is our Ecommerce one - we have another one that is essentially a landing page that links to from GoDaddy to our online scheduling. EcoAutoClean.com
