How to cancel an online order and issue store credit, NOT a refund?

I’m trying to figure out how to cancel an online order and issue store credit (like a gift card) instead of refunding the customer. This seems like a common practice, so I must be missing something, but I can’t seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated—thank you!

Now as for your question regarding canceling Online Orders without refunding, once the item(s) in the order are canceled, you can choose to either "Skip Refund" or "Continue to refund". You can review the steps to cancel Online Orders here in our Support Center. I don't believe it's possible to issue a "store credit" instead of a refund when cancelling items/orders, but you could send an egift card to the customer in the amount of the credit you'd like to issue them.
