I see that below my area for taking a credit card, it is also showing CashApp and AfterPay as payment options. I do NOT want them there. I don't accept CashApp. Why is this being forced on me. How do I get rid of them? I have been with Square for a lot of years, and don't recall seeing them in the past. Please help

Hi Lukester199,
By default, these methods are enabled however, like many options that Square offers - you can disable or turn them off - you have options. Below are the steps I took.
For Afterpay:
Login to your Square Account Dashboard
Select Settings
Select Account & Settings
Select Business Information
Select Payment Methods
You should see Afterpay - click on the 3 Dots - there you can turn off
For CashApp:
Login to your Square Account Dashboard if not already there
Select Online
Select Settings
Select Checkout
You should see CashApp - there you can turn off

Wow, JK_FIber_Art. Thanks so much for those very clear instructions. I followed them and disabled both AfterPay and CashApp. AfterPay is no longer showing, but CashApp still is. I went back and checked that setting, and it shows turned off. Any idea why it would still be showing. Why would they even put that there. Don't I have to have a CashApp account to accept CashApp, and I don't have a CashApp account. Thanks.

@lukester199Tagging in for @JK_Fiber_Art here...
CashApp may still be enabled on your point of sale. Check More -> Settings -> Checkout -> Payment Types and disable there as well. That way it can't be used at your register.
In answer to your other question, CashApp is a part of Block, which Square is a part of also. As a Square seller, you don't need to have a personal CashApp account to accept CashApp payments. It is just a convenience for the customers who do. CashApp transactions will deposit just like a credit card transaction. The only major difference on your reporting is that CashApp and credit card transactions will show on different lines on the Payments report. In order to get a full picture of your credit card transactions, you'll have to manually add them both.
Hope this helps clarify things!
