Customer file upload and attachments

Customer file upload and attachments

We own a bakery, it would be really helpful if customers could submit pictures of their idea when purchasing online. Other online platforms have had this feature for years. Right now I use Jotform and process my sales with them because they have it available.

Re: Customer file upload and attachments - Status changed to: Not currently planned

👋 Hi @TomD@SlateCreek, and fellow posters in this discussion thread. I wanted to follow up here and acknowledge the frustration around this request. I sincerely apologize for the lack of responsiveness on our side, I understand how frustrating it must be to provide feedback and not hear back.

I'm glad @maxpete reached out to me so I could go directly to the product folks involved and get an answer for you all. I spoke to the team and can confirm this feature is not currently planned. While this is not the answer you hoped for, I am glad that we were able to raise the idea to the right people and get a definitive answer for now. In the future if we have any news around this feature coming to life, you would find out about it by subscribing to our Product Updates Blog

Let me know if there is anything further here that I can help with, and I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussion here.

About half of my sales require having a customer upload a file. I cannot sell those items easily on Square so I don't. So many smaller small businesses do some form of customization work where this feature would be helpful if not necessary. I still get my sales. I just don't process them through square. If customers could simply upload files, those orders could be processed via square, giving square their fees. Seriously, between sublimation,  3d printing, laser engraving, custom food and beauty services, so many more sales could be processed, making square a lot more money. I get my sales either way, so I don't know that I would pay for a full subscription just for that feature (if features were a la carte, then probably)

Incredibly disappointed to learn that there is no way for customers to upload files to me as part of their order/checkout/etc online. I was told to come here to make the suggestion, only to find this thread that's been going on for years. So Square continues to increase website fees because of new features, but none that will actually benefit my business, and no way to opt out.

Maxpete  we keep asking for this and get no response.

Just spoke with a customer service rep who said this idea should be implemented. I am so confused with the copy paste response from Wednesday. I believe we are not making our point clear with what we are requesting. Its a feature on almost any website you can buy something on. Could we please push for a change of "Not currently planned" to "At least listening"? Some sarcasm them but not currently planned doesn't let me know if that means never...

I would love this feature as well! I'm a permanent makeup artist, and it is critical for my operation to have my client's pictures to assess whether they would be a good candidate for the services I provide. It would be an incredible waste of time for prospects to come into the studio, only to be told that they are not a good candidate. Having this feature would allow me to assess them prior to the appointment.
