Categories Not Working

I have made some categories for my online store but they do not show up in my editor.  When I try to add categories, I get this message:

 I hit refresh but nothing happens.  Any ideas?

This does sound off, but it's difficult to pinpoint what may be happening without looking at your account and settings with you, which we aren't able to do via the Seller Community.
