Can't Upload Any Images To New Site

Just created my square online account and am trying to create the website for my store. I cannot upload images ANYWHERE on the site. Can't upload my logo for the header, can't upload images for backgrounds, nothing. Customer support had no helpful suggestions. Trying different image sizes, formats, resolution etc... still nothing. Any help would be welcome.

Hi @thecommoner, are you getting an error of some kind? Or are you not able to locate the upload location? In either case, if you haven't, I recommend clearing cache and cookies.

Below are the specs for uploading images to Square:

  • Square supports the following file types for item images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF.

  • Images can be up to 20MB, but we recommend 500KB or less for faster webpage loading speeds.

  • Images can be up to 2560 x 2560 pixels. We recommend at least 2000 x 2000 pixels with a 1:1 aspect ratio.

If you can give a few more details, we'd be happy to help.

Thank you!

So I've looked into it more, and it looks like the images are successfully uploading but I can't see any of them in the preview. So after I make a change I need to publish the site to see wha

@thecommonerAah. Yes, the preview part of the website should be showing you all your images, but I have seen times where it doesn't.

What I recommend is clearing your cache on your browser, closing the program, then restarting. Chances are it's just trying to load cached pages, even in the preview mode.

Alternatively, you can publish your site but turn off "Accepting Orders" until you have your site to your satisfaction. You may still run into the cache issue though.

Hello @thecommoner !

To build off what @WoodCandleCo mentioned, the image uploader for the website can sometimes be tricky to find depending on the element you're editing. I highly recommend doing all website updates from a computer or tablet versus your phone or inside any of the apps.

For everything web design related, you get to it by:

Dashboard -> Online -> Website -> Edit Site

Header Logo: Click on Header, scroll down the left side to Content, then Logo. You should then see a spot to choose your image, "My Logo", or text. You should be able to upload a logo here.

logo.jpg

For pretty much all the other elements, you can find the image upload capability by looking for and expanding the Content section on the left column (sometimes it's at the very top of the column).

Now, if after all that, you're still seeing errors, please reply with what those errors say, and if you have even a partially complete site live, please send along your address. We should be able to help further!
