Managing stock by category

Can anyone help?

I have a pizzeria and I'm trying to offer click & collect via square online.

the problem I'm having is that if I have 100 pizzas available to sell I can only have 1 item on the online menu using "modifiers" for the different toppings.

I'd like to be able to have each topping variation as a separate item on the website without messing with the stock.

Can stock be allocated at category level?

Does anyone have any work-arounds?

Thanks

Hi @thepennybun21 thanks for posting, I'd be happy to help here.

Stock cannot be tracked for modifiers so we wouldn't want to use that option in this case.

Instead, you can use Variations which will allow you to track stock:

  • Create each pizza as a base item.
  • Use variations for toppings. This way, customers can customize their pizza while keeping track of stock at the base pizza level

  • Set your inventory at the base pizza level, considering it as the "base stock" for all pizzas.
  • When a customer selects toppings, it deducts from the toppings stock.

The pizzas can then be grouped into categories!

Let me know if you get a chance to test this out and if it works for you

Is there any way of featuring each variation on the website as a separate item?
(otherwise it’ll look like we  only have one menu item!)
