Facebook Pixel Missing Microdata

Anyone could shed some light on this issue?

I've tried to connect Facebook to Square at least 30 times without success. When I get it connected, the catalog doesn't sync. I've contacted Facebook a few times and they said it falls back to Square. One of the error is that the website is missing 4 microdata fields, which I'm not able to check on the square online website.microdataerror.jpg

Hey @bblifestyle,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you're having trouble integrating your site with Facebook.

I'm afraid this isn't something we're able to help troubleshoot, however I'm hoping another seller more experienced with using FB Pixel may be able to chime in.

Microdata settings for Pixel are not something that can be managed via Square's Online Dashboard and the Pixel integration itself is managed and supported by Facebook. With that said, we do have some steps on embedding custom code into your Square Online store to help with this - though if you're embedding custom code do be careful as it can change how your website appears!

Did you ever get the problem solved? I am getting a similar message. It's saying my pixel is missing microdata.

Hey @Ferninthewild,

Have you tried taking the advice Facebook has given you and forwarding it to our support team to see if they're able to provide any further context into this?

This issue sounds understandably frustrating, and it's something I've not heard of any solutions for since this thread was originally posted.

Are the issues you're seeing similar to the ones @bblifestyle posted above, or are you generating different errors?

I was able to fix the entire issue by deactivating my commerce account then creating a new one through the square integration online page. It seems that square might have added or edited something on that end as well because it now has its own Facebook area in the website editing tab. But I fully believe it was an issue with my commerce account.

I also want to share that I am experiencing this error.

I've been trying to Sync my Square products with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) using the Pixel method. I have been exchanging lots of emails with the helpful Meta staff members.

Here is a quote from a recent email from Meta, which is putting the blame on Square's side:

The source programming for the plug-in that we use for most of our third party integration options, Facebook Business Extension, is available to developers publicly, in order for different companies to develop apps that integrate with our software without our help.

[...] the plug-in Square is currently offering is not sending data that meets current specifications for us to process it here at Meta. Extremely basic data attributes such as pricing, for instance, are missing.

Emphasis above is added by me.

Square, can you get your developers to please add these basic attributes "id", "price", "availability", "link", as well as a 5th optional field: "google_product_category" as data that is available on our Square Online stores, so that our websites will work properly with Facebook and Instagram.

It is so disappointing that 3.5 years after it was raised by user @bblifestyle, this is still not fixed by Square. Please reply with what you plan to do about this error.
