Square says I previously had a loan but do not

I have been denied a loan with reason because I have another loan with a different account. I have never had a loan with square on any account.

I have tried for almost two months to get documentation of any loan in my name and all emails and calls are ignored. I am told someone will reply in 1-3 days and I get nothing. I have a call in for my attorney to see if he can get the info but I am so frustrated: anyone else have this?

what can I do to get someone to actually listen to my request? If it’s fraudulent then why do they not care enough to verify? I am now considering changing platforms if they do not care about my privacy.

ah, that explains it.  even though you are currently on the account it is tied to this other person also so I can see how there is confusion on loans.  I always recommend starting fresh with a new account if you are buying out someone's business for reasons just like this.  New accounts, new LLCs or S-Corps, new back accounts etc just so there isn't any ties back to the previous owner for any issues or lawsuits or loan/garnishments etc.

Hope you get it all figured out.  Personally I would try your local bank or Credit union where you bank for small loans or line of credit as that will be more adventurous for you in the long run, again just my personal opinion.

not my favorite part, but getting communication from Square can be difficult at times, especially in this are.  That is super interesting that they say you have a loan on another account.  first do you have multiple Square accounts?  That is interesting because it would have to be your SSN or EIN on both accounts to tie you to another account.

Email seems to be the best way and persistence of replying eery 3 days or so.

I wish I had a better answer, but regular support is usually pretty great, but loans seem to only want written and verifiable communication.

I have emailed for two months asking for proof of this loan with my name and info. I took this account over from someone and looks like they have another account with an outstanding loan. Both accounts have different names. It’s just poor service on Squares part. Fortunately for me it is a federal law that they must supply me with the information of any loans with my name and social. Even requested this and they have not been able to provide it because it doesn’t exist. Somehow they have the two accounts associated and I don’t know how. But contacted an attorney who will be taking it over the first of the month. Per his recommendation I emailed requesting the info along with the federal verbiage that states they must provide the information in a specific timeframe. If this is not resolved by the first of the month he plans to sue. Square needs to be better. Daily use is easy and great but **bleep** poor customer service makes me want to go elsewhere.
