First time business owner, getting the hang of all this. I LOVE Square for everything it offers, especially appointments. However, I'm coming across some hurdles when trying to setup services and staff in regards to booking online.
We offer multiple services. Some services require staff, some do not. For example if someone chooses to get a specific treatment, they must pick a staff member to perform the treatment. However, there are some services that do not require a staff member. For example our sauna services do not require staff intervention. We want when someone comes in for sauna services, the front desk worker can take them back to the room. The front desk worker can be any of 5 people on any given day.
Is there a way to specify that some services do not require a staff member? I could add each front desk employee to Appointments, but then on top of setting up their schedule and shift, we have to make sure we setup their availability (to match their shift), which could change day to day. It seems like a lot of extra work when we could just say that sauna services do not require staff.
Has anyone come across this scenario and found a solution? Or am I just thinking about this all wrong? The only other idea I had was to make a new "Staff" that is a just a group in our email (for example sauna@spa.com and add them to appointments, and assign that dummy staff user to the sauna services, with availability during any office hours.

You are right exactly right in creating a fake staff member for the sauna room. You would just need to assign that fake staff member only to the sauna room service. If you need anything else please let me know.

Having to have a "staff" member is a PIA. Because then you have to have an email and phone number. Would be better to have a user account that does not require emails or phone numbers. If you got a business big enough to make emails for all your staff, i guess thats ok. Also, who wants to use your personal phone and email to do business?
