Two sales locations.

We have two sales locations (A&B) and we want separate items for each (plus some items in common). We've set things up in a spreadsheet and indicated Y or N in the appropriate "Enabled location A" & "B" columns. (Then imported).

When logged in to location A it only shows the correct items and categories from "Enabled Location A" entries.

However, for Location B, the inventory also shows some items that are unique to Location A. The items are formatted with strike-through but I would prefer the Categories were not displayed at all.

Any advice?

Hey @RussC,

Thanks for writing in with this question!

Just to clarify - when you're signing in to location B, you're still seeing location A's items? I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

Yes, correct. I did a few more imports and then the reverse happened - signing in to Location A, I could still see some Location B items. After a few more imports and fiddling, the problem disappeared so not sure what was done to fix it. I did have some "variations" set.

If there were variations shared between locations A and B, that might be why. I'm not able to replicate this without looking into your account, but our support team can dig in deeper if you're running into this again. You can call support on 1800 760 137 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time), or contact us via online chat or email:

1. Sign in to your Square account

2. Head to our contact page https://squareup.com/help/au/en/contact

3. Click on any topic, then "I don't see my issue"

4. Click "Message us" or "Email us"

Or, if you see the new chatbot help flow, type "support" to bring up a list of contact methods.

I made up a test inventory for the two locations, with some unique variations and some shared variations and it all behaved perfectly. So I don't have anything more I can add. Sorry!

Will wait to see the problem reappears!
