Square Stand and iPadOS 18 issues??

So I bought myself a Square Stand a couple years back (Lightning) and it worked fine. 

I'll be doing the convention circuit in the near future, so pulled it out to get things ready. 
Using the same iPad, updated it (to iPadOS 18.0) now the iPad still reads the stand, the readers light up for a couple seconds then the lights go off. So when I go to 'sell something' they don't read or light up. Restarting the Square Stand doesn't seem to do much. Aside from forcing a rollback on my iPad I'm not sure what I can do to fix it.  (Tap and insert both read 'failed')

I'd personally suggest not updating to iPadOS 18 (for now) but also trying to bring things to the attention of people just in case. (and in hopes of the issue being looked into resolve the issue)

I am just had my old iPad running iOS 17 die and ran into this same issue with my personal one that I have iOS 18 beta installed on. From what I have read they are changing the SDK and API process and believe this must be related to it not working. Fingers crossed this is corrected with the official release next week. I expect firmware and software updates from square the same time

Yeah; I had to chat with support. Short version is that the beta were not supported. So shouldn't be an issue once the official firmware is released.

Thanks for the quick reply and info. At least the official release is only about a week away now so i will just have to switch back to my square reader until then. Thanks again 👍🏻
