How does Square deal with other Gift Cards (not from the Square system).

I want to make my own Gift Cards/Vouchers that can be redeemed in my retail outlet. Do I list these Gift Cards in different denominations as an Item? What happens when someone redeems them for goods? How is this dealt with in the accounting?

Hi @spikelee, 

If you create your own gift cards, you would have to manage loading/activating the cards as well as the tracking of balances outside of Square.

You can record redemptions as 'Other Gift Card or Certificate' through the POS. However, this will only record the sale so it is available in your transactions and reports. We do not integrate with any 3rd party gift card systems at this stage.
