Has anyone had trouble adding their Google Analytics tracking code to their site?

I have a G4 code from Google e.g G-12345678 but Square doesn't recognise the format.

I have also tried to add the google HTML verification, but it doesn't recognise this format either.

Thanks for flagging this to us, this definitely doesn't sound like expected behavior. 

Usually, the Google Analytics code is formatted as UA-123456789-1. If you don't see a Tracking ID, you have a Google Analytics 4 property. (Google Analytics 4 properties do not have a Tracking ID.) If you need a Tracking ID (i.e. an ID that begins with "UA-"), you will need to create a Universal Analytics property instead. Follow these instructions carefully, because the Universal Analytics property option is hidden under Show advanced options. Once you have created a Universal Analytics property, you can follow the instructions above to find your "UA-" Tracking ID. Once you have done that, you can add them to your Square Online Website by doing the following:

1. Go to your Square Online Overview page.
2. On the menu on the left-hand side of the page, click Settings > Tracking Tools.
3. Under Google Analytics, enter the code you generated with the instructions above. 

Note: If the code still doesn't work, try excluding the UA and entering just the digits. 

As for the Google HTML Verification, what error message are you receiving, if any? Where are you pasting the code? Do you have any screenshots of what appears on the screen? Any additional details of what you are seeing or the troubleshooting steps you have tried will be helpful for us in investigating the issue.
