Unclaimed property of cashapp account?

Hi, my name is Debbie. My son Larry Myers passed away on March 29, 2021 unexpectedly at the young age of 32. He has an account with cashapp, and I received a letter from the company the other day that he has a small amount in his account that's unclaimed. I don't know his personal information regarding his account I do have his cash card. Is there anyway I can claim what's left in his account or I will lose it to the state of Alabama?  Thanks in advance.

Hi @LarrysMom, I'm sorry for your loss.

While Square and Cashapp are part of the same company, the Square support team is unfortunately unable to assist with Cashapp inquiries.

I recommend contacting directly Cashapp support by email or phone on cash.app/help. A member of their team will be happy to assist you with your query.

Hi Debbie,

I’m so sorry for your loss. To claim the funds in your son's Cash App account, you'll need to contact Cash App support directly. They may ask for proof of your relationship and possibly a death certificate. Since you have his Cash Card, that could be helpful in the process. Acting quickly is important to prevent the funds from being transferred to the state.

Best of luck with everything.

Best,
Hazel James
